For my next Digital Story, my topic is about the earthquake in China. This disastrous event impacted China and its people. This event occurred April 10, 2010 at 1:31:00. The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.9. The southern region of Qinghai, China. Many people were highly impacted. The death toll is approximately over 500 people. Many lost their lives, their families, their houses and their neighborhood. During this event, people all over the world came together and supported China by sending relief goods, and medical help. Countries bound together to help one another. After this event the people all over China came together to help one another. This earthquake struck many cities that resulted in many destructed buildings. The shock wave of this earthquake led many people in panic. This led many people to come together and help, support each other in surviving. Doing this story will help people become Globally Aware of the world.
Narrative from Perspective: Chinese child/girl
As time passes me by, I see my whole country tumbling down step by step. First, I see my whole town being destroyed. Next, I see the neighboring town/city where I spend my valuable and precious time being destroyed the same day. I am a little Chinese girl. My name is Mei Li, I am seven years old living in Qinghai, China. As I see all my family, friends, animals and all my other memorable memories/ valuables are being destroyed, washed out, crumble, and panic. It breaks my heart how all I could do is just watch them, as I am only a little, innocent girl. As I soon panic, I can't help but think about the rest of my country, the rest of my family at least. How I can't do anything, can't help anyone. Buildings, tress, roads, sidewalks, parks, etc topple down to the ground as I stand there in front of them. My family and I decide to head west, towards western Europe, but I can't help but think, What family? Half of my family is under rubble, dying.

Graduate Portfolio Reflection - Story 1
My digital story made me become Literate for the 21st Century. My story made me realize that throughout the past eras change in society is inescapable. To better suit the generation, society and its people will change. Even if the change will influence the future in a positive or negative way, change is unpredictable. My project has helped me become a literate thinker for the 21st Century.

Our generation of the 21st Century, Generation Y has really impacted the world positively and of course negatively. More and more people are learning in many different ways. Society has also changed as well. For example, a student can go to college without ever leaving their own home. Also, teenagers today have greatly used the technology around them to help and influence their surroundings. Teenagers today also used technology as a use for entertainment. For example, boom boxes and Walkmans are hardly used in the present day. Today, ipods, cellphones and laptops have become a portable use of entertainment. Technology today can also be used to further help the world and give a positive impact to the lives of the people today.
